Setting connection parameters postgresql in ruby

Question

When I run my rails server, and load up my localhost:3000 page, I get an error saying that I haven't supplied the database password.

I'm using the better errors gem, so it shows me to go to my postgresql-adapter.rb file (located at C:\RailsInstaller\Ruby1.9.3\lib\ruby\gems\1.9.1\gems\activerecord-4.0.0\lib\active_record\connection_adapters) and go to line 825. The code block around that line is this:

In production there is no ":" after password... Also, I think, If you did'n set up password at all, just remove password line — Joe Half Face, Jul 12 '13 at 02:22
I did setup my password, but I don't know what my username or any other parameters should be. When I was setting it up, it said something like "superuser" database, but I'm not sure what that means. — Amar H-V, Jul 12 '13 at 03:05
9/10 you should remove username and password from development. Postgres creates default account for user. — Mike Szyndel, Jul 12 '13 at 07:17
