I am trying to synchronise a local RavenDB database with the online RavenDB database and am not managing. I am doing the following:

  1. Login to the local server RavenDB user interface
  2. Go to Tasks section
  3. Export Database
  4. Store file somewhere on file system
  5. Login to online server RavenDB user interface
  6. Go to Tasks section
  7. Click on Import database
  8. Choose the file saved from the local database Export

Any idea what I could be doing wrong? Is there any other way I can synchronise local RavenDB server with an online RavenDB server?

    I think this is a bug in the ravendb studio. Can you try if you can import the database via command line (http://ravendb.net/docs/server/administration/export-import)? If this works you can file a bug report in http://issues.hibernatingrhinos.com/ – nickvane Feb 26 '13 at 09:35
  • I'll try the import / export as mentioned later on and get back to you. Just as a note, removing the indexes from the collections, removed the error so I am assuming it is related with such indexes. Will get back to you with result of command line import when I tried that out. – Mark Cassar Feb 28 '13 at 11:03
