I grew up with computers in the early 80's (I was in High School). I started programming in BASIC (Beginners All-Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code for those who don't know what BASIC stands for) on a Commodore PET computer with a cassette drive. Later, I started and ran an Oxgate BBS from an Apple ][e with a CP/M-80 expansion card. Those were fun times.

In my 30's, I went back to school in Florida and got my Bachelor's degree, which then put my on the path of contracting and consulting. It was nice working a contract for 6 months then taking a 6 month vacation. The pay was nice too, but I got tired of moving around a lot. I finally ended up in Oregon where I now work as an full-time IT Manager. I think I'm done moving for a while.

And, although my whole career has been in Windows systems administration or systems engineering, I'm not just a computer geek. I also enjoy cooking (I've been told I'm really good at it), hiking, and gardening. You could say that I've spent my life on a path of exploration and discovery.

So, there's my profile...gimme my badge!
