I've worked in IT since leaving the British Army in 1997. I became interested in scripting in 1998 after becoming frustrated with a manual user creation process... having so few options for Windows scripting, I turned to perl. I've dabbled in all the Windows scripting languages over the years eventually taking a job as an automation engineer in 2012.
