I use windows 11.
I have tried mounting 3 ISO files and with the same outcome. I am unable to run any .exe files from it.
Other files like .txt work fine.
If I extract the ISO using a file extractor and then run the .exe files, they work fine but that is not what I want.
The error:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
What I have tried:
- Using a 3rd party tool like VirtualClone Drive, PowerIso, Daemon tools lite
- Verifying the
Removable Storage Accesspolicy so it does not deny anything - Stopping my antivirus
- Adding ownership/permissions to the ISO file itself
- Find something in the system logs but nothing there
But nothing seems to have worked. Is there any way to solve this or at least dig deeper. I have exhausted all the avenues I could think of.
