I was an idiot and expanded my data drive (does not contain the OS) on a VM that had checkpoints in place from a few days prior.

The server was shutdown at the time and came back online just fine. The data volume is operating fine and nothing seems out of place from a user experience perspective. That's the good news, nothing bad has happened yet..

However, what are my options now? The OS does not see the newly allocated disk space if relevant. Can the checkpoint still be deleted?

The main VHDX is 13.5 TB (this is the one I expanded), the AVHDX is 419 GB, and there is 829 GB free on the drive that contains them both so there should be enough space to merge them.

We do have VEEAM backups both onsite and in the cloud, but obviously 13.5 TB is a doozy even over the LAN.

The checkpoint is from 9/20, the expansion was on 9/24, and the time of this posting is 9/27.

Thanks!
