I am owner of a Google group. I'm trying to use it to forward emails from AWS to group members so they can respond properly. However, messages sent to the group email address from outside the group cannot be sent. Every test email I send returns a response stating:
We're writing to let you know that the group you tried to contact (quantum) may not exist, or you may not have permission to post messages to the group. A few more details on why you weren't able to post:
- You might have spelled or formatted the group name incorrectly.
- The owner of the group may have removed this group.
- You may need to join the group before receiving permission to post.
- This group may not be open to posting.
I have confirmed that the email address matches the group email, and the owner (me) has not removed the group. That leaves the last two options. So, I went into the group settings and saw this:
The issue appears to be that the group is only visible to organization members and only organization members can post. But I don't have an option to allow posts from outside the organization. Does anyone know how to fix this?
