The peace lily is also known as a Spath and a member of the genus Spathiphyllum. They are native to the tropics of the Americas and south eastern Asia. They are evergreen herbaceous perennial plants with large glossy leaves. The flowers are composed of a spadix enclosing a long, white, yellowish, or greenish spathe.
