for questions about controlling mosquitoes

Use this tag for questions about reducing mosquitoes - e.g. aquatic plants to discourage mosquito larvae, or plants to encourage mosquito predators.

Mosquitoes are a group of insects with an aquatic larval stage, whose females bite mammals to acquire blood proteins to create new eggs. As such they are major vectors for a range of diseases including relatively benign temperate diseases (that may cause skin irritation and nothing more), through to serious life-threatening tropical diseases. Mosquitoes are most commonly associated with malaria.
