I am doing a hydroponic experiment at school comparing different fertilizers and there formulas. For this question I am comparing miracle Gro, jacks's and CN517. Miracle Gro and Jack's are both water soluble fertilizers. CN517 is a liquid hydroponic fertilizer.
I went in to check on everything and I noticed the coloring on the roots of the lettuce. The hydroponic lettuce has nice white roots. The water-soluble has a light brown color, it is noticeable.
I know this can't be from lack of oxygen. I have a air-pump pushing air through a air stone in each section, but I think this is a lack of some nutrient. After all the water-soluble was never meant for hydroponics, but this is a experiment so were looking at what happens.
Update 1: I am going to add a list of everything Miracle Gro, Jack's, and CN517 have listed on the package. But I do think CN517 is not listed EVERYTHING in the fertilizer, just keep in mind...
