I got a Henkel knife set for Christmas. It has a built-in sharpener (so that whenever you take the knife out, it sharpens the edge). However, my daughter is adamant that I need a whet-stone instead. it's the first time I've had a good set of knives. So I'd like to take care of them properly. So, is the built-in sharpener enough? Or do I have to figure out what a whet-stone is and how to use one?
