I recently tried to dry apples, in slices, and stored them in a air-tight container. I noticed several days later that the cap of the container was bulging out, and when opening the container, some pressure was released. I clearly over-estimated the level of dryness of the apples before storing them, and as a result, they fermented. They now smell of yeast/cider. If I were to re-dry them completely now, would they be safe to eat?
