Jonah in Islam
Yunus ibn Matta (Arabic: يُونُس ٱبْن مَتّىٰ, romanized: Yūnus ibn Mattā) is a prophet and messenger of God (Allah). Yunus is traditionally viewed as highly important in Islam as a prophet who was faithful to God and delivered his messages. Yunus (Jonah) is the only one of the Twelve Minor Prophets in the Hebrew Bible to be named in the Quran. The tenth chapter of the Quran is named after him.
