Yaacov Trope

Yaacov Trope (born June 17, 1945) is a social psychologist who studies cognitive, motivational, and social factors that enable perspective taking, and effects of emotions and desires on social judgment and decision making. He is a Professor of Psychology at New York University.

Trope won the 2016 Mentor Award from the Association for Psychological Science for his outstanding mentorship and support for psychology students. Trope is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
