Tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) is a fluorocarbon with the chemical formula C₂F₄. It is the simplest perfluorinated alkene. This gaseous species is used primarily in the industrial preparation of fluoropolymers.

It was first reported as "dicarbon tetrafluoride" in 1890.
