Sloboda

A sloboda (Russian: слобода́, IPA: [sləbɐˈda]; Ukrainian: слобода́) was a type of settlement in the history of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. The name is derived from the early Slavic word for "freedom" and may be loosely translated as "free settlement".
