It was written by Dan Wilson and produced by Nick Launay. In the United States, it reached number 11 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and number 31 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Two years later, in 2000, the single peaked at number 39 in the United Kingdom that March.
