Shari Ahmad

Shari bin Ahmad is a Bruneian nobleman and soldier whom became the 5th Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) from 1999 until 2001, and the 2nd Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) from 1994 until 1999.

Not to be confused with Shariz Ahmad.
In this Malay name, there is no surname or family name. The name Ahmad is patronymic, and the person should be referred to by their given name: Shari. The Arabic-derived word 'bin' or 'binti' / 'binte', if used, means 'son of' or 'daughter of', respectively.
