Seán Brady (cardinal)

Seán Baptist Brady KGCHS (born 16 August 1939) is an Irish cardinal of the Catholic Church. He was Primate of All Ireland and Archbishop of Armagh from 1996 until 2014, and was elevated to the rank of cardinal by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007. He faced repeated calls to resign over his alleged role in a cover-up of child abuse by priests in his jurisdiction.
