Sathankulam town is located in the banks of the Karumeni river. It is 23 km (14 mi) from Tiruchendur and 45 km (28 mi) from Tirunelveli and 60 km (37 mi) from Thoothukudi and 70 km (43 mi) from Nagercoil and 75 km (47 mi) from Kanyakumari. It is well connected with Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Nagercoil and Tiruchendur by road.
