Samokov Valley

Samokov Valley (Bulgarian: Самоковска котловина) is situated in western Bulgaria, less that 25 km south of the outskirts of the capital Sofia. It is named after the town of Samokov, its main settlement. The valley is a hub for tourism in the neighbouring Rila mountain range to the south, the highest in Bulgaria and the Balkans.
