Yakut scripts

There are 4 stages in the history of Yakut writing systems:

• until the early 1920s – writing based on the Cyrillic alphabet;
• 1917–1929 – Novgorodov's writing system, which is based on the Latin alphabet;
• 1929–1939 – a unified alphabet on the Latin basis;
• since 1939 – writing based on the Cyrillic alphabet.
