Revierderby

The Revierderby (pronounced [ʁeˈviːɐ̯ˌdœɐ̯biː] ) is the name given to any association football match between two clubs in the Ruhr region – also known in German as the Revier, a contraction of Bergbaurevier (mining area) – in North Rhine-Westphalia, but in most cases it refers to the derby between two most historically successful clubs from the region: Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04. Outside Germany, it is often referred to as the Ruhr derby.
