Oogenesis

Oogenesis, ovogenesis, or oögenesis /ˌ.əˈɛnɪsɪs/ is the differentiation of the ovum (egg cell) into a cell competent to further develop when fertilized. It is developed from the primary oocyte by maturation. Oogenesis is initiated in the embryonic stage.
