N-Hydroxyphthalimide

N-Hydroxyphthalimide is the N-hydroxy derivative of phthalimide. The compound can be utilized as a catalyst for oxidation reactions, in particular for the selective oxidation (e. g. alkanes to alcohols) with molecular oxygen under mild conditions.
