Ring of mixed characteristic

In commutative algebra, a ring of mixed characteristic is a commutative ring ${\displaystyle R}$ having characteristic zero and having an ideal ${\displaystyle I}$ such that ${\displaystyle R/I}$ has positive characteristic.
