Makran, Iran
Makran (Persian: ماكران, also Romanized as Mākrān and Mākerān) is a village in, and the capital of, Goharbaran-e Jonubi Rural District of Goharbaran District, Miandorud County, Mazandaran province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,601 in 448 households, when it was in Miandorud-e Bozorg Rural District of the former Miandorud District of Sari County. The following census in 2011 counted 1,660 people in 498 households, In December 2009, Miandorud District was separated from Sari County in the establishment of Miandorud County, which was divided into two districts and five rural districts, with Surak as its capital and only city. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,498 people in 509 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.
