Lol Tolhurst

Laurence Andrew Tolhurst (born 3 February 1959) known professionally as Lol Tolhurst, is an English musician, songwriter, producer and writer. He is a founding member and the former drummer of English rock band The Cure, he switched to keyboards duties in 1982 and left the group in 1989. He was temporarily reunited with them for a number of shows in 2011. He was also involved in the bands Presence and Levinhurst.

He published his memoir Cured: The Tale of Two Imaginary Boys in 2016, the book related his childhood in Crawley and his journey within the Cure. He published his second book, Goth: a History in 2023. The same year he released the album Los Angeles with Budgie and Jacknife Lee: the lead single and title track featured James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem on vocals.
