Jahangir

Nur-ud-Din Muhammad Salim (31 August 1569 – 28 October 1627), known by his imperial name Jahangir (Persian pronunciation: [d͡ʒahɑːn'giːr]; lit.'Conqueror of the World'), was the fourth Mughal Emperor, who ruled from 1605 until his death in 1627. He was the third and only surviving son of Emperor Akbar and his chief empress, Mariam-uz-Zamani, born to them in the year 1569. Nuruddin Muhammad Salim was named after the revered Indian Sufi saint Salim Chishti.
