Irpin

Irpin (Ukrainian: Ірпі́нь, IPA: [irˈp⁽ʲ⁾inʲ] ) is a city on the Irpin River in Bucha Raion, Kyiv Oblast, northern Ukraine. It is located next to the capital Kyiv. Irpin hosts the administration of Irpin urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The city has a population of 65,167 (2022 estimate).

The city has a railway station built in 1899. In 2022, it received the title Hero City of Ukraine.

During the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the city was damaged by 70%. As of June 25, 2023, the city's mayor reported that most people had already returned: "Yes, we have already returned 85% of the entire city's population. In addition, we have received almost 25,000 internally displaced persons, mostly from the east."
