Dennis Austin
Dennis Austin (May 28, 1947 – September 1, 2023) was an American software developer. Austin played a pivotal role as the lead software developer for PowerPoint between 1985 and 1996, focusing primarily on its versions tailored for Apple Macintosh computers. His initial encounter with computers took place during a high school summer program at the Carnegie Institute of Technology. This encounter ignited a profound interest in programming languages and compilers, which he further cultivated during his undergraduate engineering studies at the University of Virginia in the late 1960s.
