David Agius

David Agius is a Maltese politician from the Nationalist Party. He was elected to the Parliament of Malta in the 2022 Maltese general election from District 11. In the 2017 Maltese general election he was elected in District 8. In 2022 he was appointed deputy speaker.

In February 2023, he announced his candidacy for the 2024 European Parliament election.

In January 2024, during a speech at the Parliament of Malta about the Sports Governance and Integrity Act, Agius called out the lack of accountability for corruption cases within Maltese football, stating that "in Malta, people know who is going to win before the game is even played, and it's almost sure who will win the league this year". Agius's statements received criticism from the Malta Football Association, which considered some of his claims to be "nothing short of a slap in the face for all those athletes, volunteers, and most of all fans".
