Congregation (university)
A congregation, in some (especially British) institutions, is a formal meeting of a university, particularly for awarding degrees, and thus, by extension, the graduation ceremony at those universities. These include the University of Cambridge, Durham University, the University of Birmingham, the University of Warwick, the University of Kent and Northumbria University.
At the University of Oxford, the congregation is the sovereign governing body.
