The group saw commercial success in 1991, beginning with the release of the Billboard Hot 100-top five singles "Motownphilly" and "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday." Their first single to peak the chart, "End of the Road" was released in 1992 and set a then-record for holding the number one spot on Billboard Hot 100 for thirteen weeks. Boyz II Men broke this record once more with the singles "I'll Make Love to You" and "One Sweet Day" (with Mariah Carey), which, at fourteen and sixteen weeks respectively, set new records for the total number of weeks at number one. When "On Bended Knee" took the number one spot away from "I'll Make Love to You", Boyz II Men became the third musical act (after the Beatles and Presley) to replace themselves atop of the Billboard Hot 100. These achievements gave Boyz II Men recognition as Billboard magazine's biggest boy band during the period of 1987 to 2012.
Boyz II Men continued to perform as a trio despite McCrary's departure. Their most recent studio album, Under the Streetlight, was released in 2017.Boyz II Men has received four Grammy Awards.
