Airwalk

Airwalk is a company known largely for making skateboarding shoes. Founded in 1986 by the founder of Blair Co, George Yohn, and shoe purchaser Bill Mann, the brand gained widespread national popularity in for their most popular shoe – “The One” – in the mid 1990s. In his 2000 book The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell cited Airwalk as the sixth most influential brand in the world during its heyday in the mid 1990s. Airwalk was purchased by Collective Licensing International in 2004. As of December 2023, Airwalk was owned and operated by Authentic Brands Group.
