I stopped writing software two years ago when I couldn't write another line of Java Spring because I found it so damned ridiculous. My boss and colleagues thought me foolish, and that I didn't get it. I started coding again when building a web site for a client who wanted me to change the graphic design of the site, specifically, the type size. I suddenly realized that no-one using a Dell laptop could possibly have any worthwhile opinion about design generally, let alone type size. That possibly my choices weren't that great, but that self-evidently, he knew nothing worth hearing and, my confidence in myself thus restored, I immediately began coding again. True story. :-)
