I have been in sales for the past 25 years, and a year ago, I had to make a drastic change in my life due to medical problems. Because I am no longer able to work the hours or handle the physical demands of an automotive sales person, I decided to do something I have always wanted to do, but never found the time before. In Jan of 08, I started going to school (P/T) at Indiana University Southeast (IUS) a campus of Indiana University (IU) in New Albany IN. I am currently in pursuit of my associate’s degree in computer science. I am a sophomore now and have most of my academic classes out of the way, so I am begin my computer part of this degree. I have recently completed my first course in Java programming. However, after almost a full year and a half back at school I decided to take the summer off, but I still want to work on gaining as much knowledge as I can. Right now, I am trying to learning how to develop GUI’s in java in a self study manner. In the fall of 09, is when I believe things will start to get tough for me as I really dive into this stuff. I am signed up for two courses right now, which are CSCI C-202 and CSCI C-251. The first is a computer programming course that deals with algorithms, programming structure, arrays, stacks, Queues, binary trees, and so forth. The second is where I believe I will have the hardest time it is the Foundations of Digital Concepts, which include things like propositional logic, set algebra, including mappings and relations, as well as elements of graph theory and statistical analysis. According to my Java Professor who will also be, teaching this class it is more of a high end math class than it is a computer class. For these reason I took the advice of a friend and joined this site, as I know I will have many questions in the upcoming year and a half. I also know that as my knowledge gets stronger I will in turn be able to help other people. Therefore, I am hoping that being a member of this site will be a
