FTP protocol over SSL (not SFTP, which is SSH-based)

FTPS is an extension of the FTP protocol that makes use of Transfer Layer Security, specified by RFC 2228 and RFC 4217. It encrypts all packets, including authentication, when one uses the ftp protocol.

Do not confuse FTPS with SFTP.
