Finding volume, length, and area all involve measuring dimensions in order to quantify a certain aspect of an object or space. Although each property requires different calculations, they all rely on the same fundamental principle: taking measurements and using those measurements to derive a numerical value. When finding volume, you are measuring the amount of space that an object occupies.
