Climbing and trailing plants

The term is a general term that could refer to any climbing or trailing plant, e.g. an ivy, clematis, or honeysuckle.

Vines are often planted to visually improve a steep ground surface, wall, or fence. Vines tend to be fast growing and difficult to remove: Care should be taken when choosing a vine. Ideally you should choose a native plant, and always avoid plants which are considered invasive in your local area and climate. Examples of problematic invasive vines in the US are English Ivy, and Kudzu. Invasive creepers can damage structures and cables due to their weight.

Use this tag for all questions about such plants, but many of these plants will have their own tags. Questions about grape vines should use the tag.
