Fluid used to transport water nutrients and water within a plant.

Sap is a fluid that is transported throughout a plant in order to transport water and nutrients. Transport is effected with xylen cells or phloem sieve tubes; which use osmosis (and surface tension / evapotranspiration effects) to lift the sap against gravity.

Sap usually consists of water, sugars, hormones, and mineral elements. It can be harvested - for example, maple syrup is made from reduced sap tapped from trees.
