Rosemary, species Rosmarinus officinalis, is a member of genus Rosmarinus, Family Lamiaceae. It is a woody, perennial , noted for fragrant, evergreen needle-like foliage. It is native to the Mediterranean region, and typically grows with white, pink, purple, or blue flowers.

As well as being used as a culinary herb, rosemary is used for decoration, and has also been used for medicinal applications due to high levels of various bioactive acids. Historically it has a reputation for improving memory. In Australia and New Zealand, rosemary is used as a symbol of remembrance on ANZAC Day.
